Kimberly, 43, took to Instagram on Sunday, December 21, to share a cozy photo of James, 48, with his arms around her. “Me and my baby @vanderjames,” she captioned the happy photo, which appears to have been taken outside their Texas ranch.
The photo shows James wearing a warm winter sweater with baggy trousers, while Kimberly donned a cherry red maxi dress. Days ago, James publicly addressed fans’ concerns about his significant weight loss during his two-year battle with cancer.
Interviewed on Friday, December 19 today During the show, James addressed fans’ concerns after he missed the game dawson creek Live reading event in New York City in September. “I lost a lot of weight due to a stomach virus,” he said on the show, clarifying that the change in his appearance “had nothing to do with cancer.”
James added, “Despite having cancer, everything was like, ‘Why don’t we scale up the stomach virus?'”
The interview also included James reflecting on his health, recalling the moment he publicly announced in November 2024 that he had been diagnosed with colorectal cancer. “I was shocked. But you know, one of the things I was really lucky about was that when I heard the news, I thought, ‘This is going to be the best thing that’s ever going to happen to me.’ … There was a little voice in my head that said, ‘You’re going to make changes in your life that you would never make if you didn’t get this extreme diagnosis,'” he told the outlet.
The actor also credits his cancer journey with important life lessons. “I don’t think I ever knew what it was to slow down…to really look at everything I eat, everything I put into my body. Really, I would say the biggest change would be this journey of self-love. I realize that I’m still worthy of love. My own love, God’s love,” he explained.
