Katie, who raised Bates, supported husband’s career change before cheating
Raising Bates alum Katie Bates has her husband Travis ClarkHe returned when he wanted to change jobs – just months before his affair scandal.
“Share big life updates 🩺❤️ We have a lot going on behind the scenes and we are finally ready to share the news that Travis is in nursing school,” Bates, 25, wrote via Instagram in June 2025. “I couldn’t be prouder of him! “
She continued, “Since this all started last year, I’ve watched him work so hard, stay focused, continue to write and record music, and dedicate himself to this new path while still being present for me and the kids in the most meaningful way.”
Bates and Clark, 24, married in 2021 and have two children.
“This decision was made after much thought and prayer and we believe it is the right step for our family and we are very excited about the future,” Bates explained at the time, adding a note to their social media followers. “Thank you for being a part of our journey. We really appreciate having you with us!”
Months later, Bates expressed his gratitude to Clark and his family before Christmas.
“Thank you for giving me this life, thank you for giving me this family,” Bates wrote on Instagram in December 2025, which also featured Clark in a video of her celebrating the holiday. “Hope you all had the best Sunday!”
Clark also shared clips of his nursing school training and family life on his social media pages and admitted his infidelity the next month.
“This is hard to write but I owe the truth and I owe an apology. I was unfaithful to my wife,” he wrote in a social media statement on Saturday, January 17. “I had an affair and betrayed her trust multiple times. There is no excuse for what I did. It was my failure and my responsibility. I know words cannot express the hurt I caused or the depth of the hurt I brought into her life, but I am truly sorry.”
Clark continued, “I am sorry for the pain, humiliation, and betrayal my choices have caused my wife. I understand that an apology will not repair the damage I have caused, and forgiveness is not something I deserve or can ask for.”
Clark said he plans to take responsibility for his actions by “seeking help and working to change.”
“[I hope to] Become a more honest and responsible person regardless of [the] “Results,” Clark concluded. “I ask that Katie deal with this matter in her own time and be granted privacy and grace.”
Bates didn’t immediately speak publicly about her husband’s scandal, but revealed hours ago that she was pregnant.
“I will miss you for the rest of my life,” Bates wrote on Instagram, confirming her loss in a tearful video.
Katie, one of Jill and Kelly Jo Bates” 19 and Clark began a relationship in March 2020 after meeting through mutual friends. They got engaged in April 2021 and tied the knot the following December. Katie later gave birth to daughter Hailey and son Harvey in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
