Gordon Ramsaywife, Tana Ramseyrevealed the condition of her skin after spending too much time in the sun.
“Gordon and I used to bake a lot,” Tana, 51, told us the times In an interview published on Monday, January 19th. “Now I have melasma. I’ll never forget walking into a drugstore and the woman behind the counter asking me what the stain was on my face.”
According to the Cleveland Clinic, melasma is “characterized by brown or blue-gray patches or freckle-like spots.” This skin condition is common and usually goes away after a few months.
Tana’s admission comes months after Gordon, 59, opened up about his skin cancer surgery.
“A huge thank you to the incredible team at The Skin Associates and their quick response work in eliminating this basal cell carcinoma, thank you!” Gordon wrote via Instagram in August 2025. “Please don’t forget to wear sunscreen this weekend. I promise you this is not plastic surgery! I need a refund…”
While sharing the message, the celebrity chef also uploaded photos of bandages below his ear and on the left side of his face. One photo shows the inch incision and approximately eight stitches.
According to the Mayo Clinic, basal cell carcinoma is “a type of skin cancer that most commonly occurs in areas of the skin that are exposed to the sun, such as the face.” Cancer usually appears as a growth or ulcer that does not heal.
Cancer Research UK’s official Instagram account wrote: “It’s great to hear you’re doing well Gordon and thank you for raising awareness of the importance of staying safe in the sun. “Seek shade, cover up and apply plenty of sunscreen regularly.”
“Love you daddy,” added Gordon and Tana’s daughter Holly Anna in the comments section (The couple has six children, Megan, Holly Anna, Jack Scott, Matilda, Oscar James and Jesse James.)
A year before sharing the scars from skin cancer surgery, Gordon opened up about a bicycle accident he suffered.
“My life flashed in front of me,” Gordon told Men’s Health UK 2024. “[I was] The descent down the hill was quick and no other vehicles were involved. The front wheel fell into a pothole and the entire bike bounced me up. It’s hard for me to breathe. I thought I was going to pass out. Foolishly, the bike was wrecked and I put the chain back on. Then, like an adrenaline-fueled idiot, I started riding again. “
He continued, “I bent down and started tightening the helmet and the whole thing cracked. Then I tried to look and all I could see was a blur of vision and blood everywhere. I honestly thought I was going to pass out.”
Gordon was rushed to hospital, underwent a CT scan and was fine, but he still had a long road to recovery.
“I couldn’t even put on my fucking socks and pants,” Ramsey explained at the time. “Justin, [Mandel, Gordon’s assistant] He used to dress me in the morning. I feel like a 95 year old man. It was so embarrassing to have a 30 year old put my underwear on. “
