Japanese police say

A Japanese woman was arrested on suspicion of locking her naked partner on a balcony, causing him to die in the cold, police said Friday.
Police in southern southern Japan told AFP that the 54-year-old was arrested for attacks and fatal jail time.
In February 2022, the woman “ordered the victim to get down the balcony while naked and confined it there,” said local official Masafumi Tanigawa.
Tanigawa said the next day police rushed to the scene after an emergency call and the 49-year-old was found “nearly dying” in a room.
Mainichi Daily reported that the temperature dropped to 3.7 degrees Celsius (38.66 degrees Fahrenheit).
The woman earlier attacked her partner with a knife, her common law husband, and it took two weeks to heal his nose.
According to Mainichi, an autopsy showed the man had a nose injury and police are investigating the possibility that the man was a victim of daily domestic violence.
The woman denied the charges and told police “I did nothing”, Tanichuan quoted her as saying.
The police did not say why she had to be formally prosecuted for so long.
According to the Japan Times, about one-quarter of spouses in Japan reported that their partners had suffered physical abuse last year. The survey shows that 12.6% of them said they felt their lives were at risk.
