Germany’s Baerbock calls spending plan signal to Ukraine
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock praised a multi-billion-euro defense and infrastructure protocol on Friday, saying it was also a signal to Ukraine, Europe and the world.
Baerbock concluded his meeting with the G7 Foreign Minister of Canada, saying the results were aligned with the global challenges the Germans are now facing.
She added that the decision on a large-scale spending plan not only makes Germany safer, but also signals Ukraine, Europe and the world.
The Foreign Minister said Germany is taking responsibility and it is necessary to make substantial investments in intelligence services, cybersecurity and civil protection, especially given the increasingly mixed threats facing Europe.
