Captain Janeway’s biggest idol is played by Kate Mulgrew’s biggest fan

Several episodes Star Trek: Traveler As memorable as “The 37s”, this is an episode where Captain Janeway meets her idol, Amelia Earhart. It’s a great plot in itself, but it makes more sense to watch it when you know that the woman who plays the captain’s personal idol is the biggest fan of the woman behind Janeway. Kate Mulgrew is definitely Idolization Written by Earheart actor Sharon Lawrence, the two of them formed an instant connection during the production of this episode.
Kate Mulgrew Meets Her Biggest Fan
most Traveler Fans don’t know that Sharon Lawrence would never have been part of Amelia Earhart if it weren’t for her love for Kate Mulgrew. Unlike many who have made guest appearances in this famous franchise, Lawrence is not familiar with Star Trek outside Original series. So she only played her interest in playing Earhart and her desire to be with Mulgrew, who has been admiring Mulgrew’s wishes since the elderly women appeared in soap operas Ryan’s Hope.
It might seem strange to think about it for modern Star Trek fans, but at the time, Kate Mulgrew’s show required a guest appearance by Sharon Lawrence Distant More than actors. Lawrence was recently nominated for his performance in the Drama of The Buzz NYPD Blueso she offers some real star power for the season 2 premiere of this fledgling sci-fi spin-off. As for why she played the role, she later said she was happy to portray “one of our greatest national heroines” on screen, and she soon fell in love with the idea of her character building friendship with Janeway, which gave the two feminist idols the opportunity to work together for centuries.
Fortunately, working with Kate Mulgrew is filled with Sharon Lawrence’s greatest hope: “It was an honor to work with her,” and “I was impressed by her professionalism.” In between scenes, the two find time to combine with all kinds of things they share, including with a theatrical background. Lawrence also took the time to ask Mulgrew “how she became an actress and mother”, something many of her admired Star Trek fans also want to know over the years.
Although Kate Mulgrew always performed well, her outstanding performance in “The 37s” was partly due to Sharon Lawrence’s presence. The young actor had previously said: “The relationship Kate and I shared is easily affected by the relationship.” This is reflected in their screen chemistry and helps explain why Lawrence only had an episode once, but Lawrence was able to impress fans so deeply.
Another reason Kate Mulgrew and Sharon Lawrence may get along so well is that they share the same outspoken feminist ideals. Looking back at their time, Lawrence notes that playing “peers and leaders” rather than “family or familiar relationships…always feel good to me.” Their time together is somewhat accidental, giving two fearless female idols the opportunity to inspire a new generation of women to boldly enter an area they have never been to.
Sadly, this is the only episode where Kate Mulgrew and Sharon Lawrence have the chance to perform with each other. But these actors took them the most of their time together, elevating the already strong script to a plot Traveler Fans will never forget it. As for Janeway, it is fair to say that this fictional character has joined the real Amelia Earhart in the most inspiring female chronicle in modern history.
