Apple iPhone 16e review: Questionable value

iPhone 16e Not suitable for me. If you are an avid tech enthusiast and Apple fan, it may not be for you. It’s for those who stick with the iPhone 8 Plus or iPhone X, ready for an upgrade, as their smartphones over seven aren’t working well these days. They want a new phone, they just need an iPhone.

If Apple included its good facilities like Magsafe or Ultra-Wideband chips, a part of my brain wouldn’t stop thinking about how almost a decade of upgrading these people wouldn’t be able to get better service. Even without these features, the iPhone 16e feels $100, considering many of the excellent competitive phones in that bracket. It also confuses the iPhone lineup – it’s $170 more than Apple’s previous iPhone SE, which is no longer available.

I spent a lot of time using the iPhone 16e the past week and considered its $599 MSRP, which naturally means some issues. This may not matter to people in the United States, who favor buying through carrier subsidy fees, although they are still paying for a few years of selling for $600 (locked) phone. But when the used iPhone market is healthy and booming, anyone who feels thinking about using the iPhone 16e will find the value of the iPhone 15 or iPhone 15 Pro.

Cell lift

The best iPhone 16e features? Battery life. Considering this is a 6.1-inch iPhone that performs the lowest battery tests in history, it’s a surprising surprise. I’ve tried to lower my phone below 50% on average usage over the past week. (Bedtime usually hovers around 51% or 49%.) Yes, that means the iPhone 16E has better battery life than the iPhone 16.

In the day I use it for GPS navigation, music streaming and picture capture, about 30% before going to bed. Another busy day, I played for nearly 9 hours of screen time, 15% in the tank. Very good. It’s still not the best iPhone battery life in the lineup (that’s the iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Plus), but that’s enough to keep battery anxiety focused when you’re out and about.

Apple claims that the boost to this battery is partly part of the assistant thanks to the C1 modem designed for the first time in the phone’s internals. Apple has spent years building this connectivity chip to reduce dependence on partners like Qualcomm, and it seems to have paid off. I have not provided cellular connectivity issues provided by AT&T Esim Apple over the past week, although it may also depend on the region. (I’m in New York City.) I tested speeds with Ookla on various phones with the iPhone 16e, but found nothing different. In other words, do you still remember the talent? We must wait and see how C1 modems perform in the hands of more and more people around the world.
