Armstrong said the biggest reason for staying optimistic about Bitcoin is the high speed of institutional adoption. In short, large institutional investors now choose to allocate their portfolios to Bitcoin. This steady buying pressure will certainly increase the price of Bitcoin over time.

The easiest place to see this buying pressure at work is spot Bitcoin Exchange Trading Funds (ETFs). In less than a year, these spot Bitcoin ETFs have attracted more than $100 billion of investors.

Institutions adopt strategic business models that also come from Bitcoin Treasury companies, all of which are accumulating strategically based on funds raised in the capital market. According to the latest data from BitCoinReasuries.net, these companies hold more than 1 million bitcoins, accounting for about 5% of all bitcoins. Of course, the share of the Lion is a strategy, with the estimated Bitcoin holdings of the strategy being $70 billion.

Meanwhile, the U.S. government is accepting Bitcoin as part of an overall plan to make the U.S. a “crypto capital.” The best evidence is the decision to launch a strategic Bitcoin reserve earlier this year. Although the fund has not yet begun any new Bitcoin purchases, the government believes Bitcoin is a strategic asset worth storing in the future.

Another factor that favors Bitcoin is its inherent scarcity. Bitcoin’s lifetime supply is 21 million coins, which are already in circulation. So we are quickly approaching all the bitcoins that already exist.

As the number of Bitcoin use cases increases, demand for coins will deviate from the charts as more and more institutional investors put it into Bitcoin. Soaring demand combined with fixed supply should lead to higher prices. This helps explain why Bitcoin’s value has soared over the past few years.
