After the Sandlingham Royal Manor “Zelenskyy Scare

Sandringham Estate has issued a no-fly order at Sandringham Estate after Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the royal residence last month after a drone flight was discovered in the area.

The security department demanded restrictions to protect “royal members and other VIPs”, and King Charles presided over the Ukrainian president on March 2 at Norfolk Manor. A week later, they took effect.

The move was reportedly taken after a weekend flight over the estate on Zelenskyy’s arrival. The Sun reports that one drone was traced back to a man sitting in a nearby car and another drone was sitting near a photographer. Other drones are reportedly not responsible.

Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander signed an order to restrict aircraft from flying below 2,000 feet (600 meters) below Sandringham “for public safety reasons” and ensure safety of the “royal and other VIPs living at or visiting the Sandringham House.”

The order states: “These regulations impose restrictions on flights near Sandringham House in Norfolk.

“In view of the need for VIPs to reside for royal members and other VIPs to stay or visit Sandringham House and to the requirements of safety services, the Civil Aviation Administration and the Ministry of Transport have agreed that the department should be restricted in the vicinity of the location for public safety and safety reasons.”

Flights Royal, visitors’ planes, as well as police and emergency services were exempted from orders.

Zelenskyy arrived at Sandringham House from London last month, shortly after he attended the Keir Starmer summit of European leaders.

His meeting with the king began at 5.30 pm and lasted less than an hour. Sources said the president was warmly received. It was reported that the British government agreed to the meeting after the request of the Ukrainian president.

The two heads of state met for the first time at Buckingham Palace in 2023. Last year, on the second anniversary of the full Russian invasion, the king sent strong wording support for Ukraine, exemplifying the “incredible aggression” faced by the Ukrainians and celebrating “the determination and strength of the Ukrainian people.”
