Air India announced a major upgrade to uninterrupted service between India and Japan. Starting from March 31, 2025, the airline will conduct four flights between Haneda Airport (HND) in Delhi and Tokyo. This replaces the current route to Narita International Airport (NRT) and will allow travelers to enter Tokyo more directly.
In addition, Air India has expanded its codeshare agreement with its star alliance partner All Nippon Airways (ANA). The agreement will help Air India customers seamlessly from Tokyo Haneda to six other Japanese destinations.

“Moving our flights to Haneda Airport is an important advantage for our guests – it brings them closer to the center of Tokyo. With this transformation, we can not only connect the two vibrant capitals more effectively, but it can also help promote trade and tourism between India and Japan.” Haneda Airport is about 11 miles from Tokyo and about 43 miles from Narita. This reduces travel time to about 30 minutes.
Regarding code sharing, Nipun Aggarwal added: “Our deepening partnership with ANA opens up unprecedented Japan for our guests. By providing easy access to our guests, coupled with ANA’s domestic Japanese network, coupled with ANA’s access to Air India’s extensive Indian network, we have built a stronger bridge between the two countries – providing simpler, real rewards for our average guests.”

Air India upgraded its services to the Asian country, first appearing in the manual.
