Ally Lindell wins over $5 million appeal in lawsuit

(Reuters) – Donald Trump Ally and Mypillow.com CEO Mike Lindell convinced the U.S. Court of Appeal on Wednesday to sign a judge’s order to pay $5 million to software developers, who said he said he debunked Lindell’s 2020 election fraud claim.
The 8th Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis said the arbitration panel misinterpreted the rules of the game set up by Lindell, overseeing the challenge of anyone to refute his claim that Trump won the election.
The Appeals Court panel overturned a federal judge who confirmed the arbitrator’s 2023 ruling issued by the arbitrator to Robert Zeidman last year.
Zeidman’s attorney Brian Glasser said in a statement that the 8th Circuit’s ruling was “a consistent violation of the decision by the three arbitrators who heard all the evidence, including evidence of Mr. Lindell’s appointment.”
Jeremiah Pilon, general counsel for mypillow, welcomed the court’s ruling against Lindel in a statement, “especially given the rare reversal of the arbitral award.”
Lindell is one of many Trump allies who made fraud claims in the 2020 election, which were rejected by multiple courts.
In 2021, Lindell formed part of the “Prove Mike’s Mistake” challenge to establish Democrat Joe Biden attributed his election victory over Trump.
Participants were asked to prove that the data from the 11 documents provided by Lindell had nothing to do with the election.
The private judge overseeing the challenge did not declare the winner. Zeidman later convinced an arbitration team that he deserved a $5 million reward.

The Court of Appeal said: “The Panel or this Court shall not modify the terms of the contract.”
