Although the Indian city of Rajkot is located on the west coast of Gujarat, it is far enough inland to have a very hot climate, with the highest level during the day as high as above 90 degrees for eight months, from 100 degrees from April to June. When designing his own family home, architect Abhishek Patel attempted to create a “lightweight, ventilated and minimalist environment that is both accommodating and easy to maintain.”

Located on the top floor of a 14-story building, the living room extends to the balcony where residents can socialize or have morning tea.
