American immigration agent arrests Mexican boxer Julio César Chávez Jr.

American immigration agents detained the famous Mexican boxer Julio César Chávez Jr.
Immigration and customs law enforcement officers arrested Chávez on Wednesday and are speeding up his acceleration of his evacuation from the United States, according to the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees the ICE.
Chavez was marked as a public safety threat, but “the Biden administration noted in its internal records that he was not a priority for immigration enforcement.”
Chávez’s manager Sean Gibbons told The Times they are currently “handling some issues” after the boxer was arrested, but there are no further comments.

U.S. officials announced the arrest Thursday, referring to the young Chávez as a “branch of Sinaloa Cartel.” The Trump administration has designated Mexican drug trafficking groups as “foreign terrorist organizations.”
“Under President Trump, no one goes beyond the law, including world-renowned athletes,” Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement.
According to the press release, Chavez legally entered the country in August 2023, with the B2 tourist visa continuing until February 2024. On December 17 last year, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services referred to Ice, saying Chavez was a “serious public safety threat.”
“However, entry into the DHS enforcement system under the Biden administration shows that Chavez is not a priority for immigration enforcement,” the release said.
According to the press release, Chavez reentered the country at the port of entry in San Isidro on January 4.
“After several fraudulent statements in his application for a legal permanent resident, he was determined to illegally relocate in the country on June 27,” Homeland Security Release said.
According to the Homeland Security Agency, Chavez was convicted in 2012 for alcohol effects and sentenced to 13 days in prison and 36 months of probation.
According to the Homeland Security Agency, in 2023, a judge issued an arrest warrant for Chavez, “for the crime of organised crimes that trafficked weapons and commit crimes.”
The warrant is for “those involved in the secret, bringing weapons, ammunition, cartridges, explosives into the country; and those without corresponding permits for weapons, ammunition, ammunition, ammunition, ammunition and explosives.”
Officials said that in January, the Los Angeles Police Department arrested Chavez and accused him of illegal possession of any assault weapon, manufacturing or importing short barrel rifles. He was later convicted.
