The Rochester Americans won the berth in the 2025 Calder Cup playoffs Wednesday night, beating the visiting Springfield Thunderbirds 4-2.
Rochester will play for the 50th playoffs in franchise history. Amerks is a six-time Calder Cup champion and 16-time league finalist. They entered the Eastern Conference Finals in 2023.
The Amerks are the second second team to win the playoffs in the Northern Section, which will put five teams into the playoffs. The top three will make it to the semifinals, while the fourth and fifth teams will meet in three best first-round series.
