During an episode of their “Amy & TJ” podcast, Robach said marriage was “under consideration” and that they “didn’t get into this relationship just for fun.”
“We got into this relationship because we were going to spend our lives together,” she explained, adding that they weren’t “racing” or “rushing” down the aisle. “But one thing, I get it, it’s this thing, I can’t even explain why I have this desire, but I want to spend the rest of my life with you, I can say that. During an episode of the “Amy & TJ” podcast, Robach said they are “still deciding” whether a red carpet appearance is a possibility.
“I think we’re still deciding the level of commitment, whether it’s legal or not, but that’s still up for debate,” she explained. “But mentally, emotionally, we absolutely agree to be committed to each other… We haven’t figured out the marriage thing yet.”
Holmes seemed confused by his then-girlfriend’s comments, asking: “What does ‘we haven’t figured out yet’ mean?” You mean you haven’t decided yet? “

Robach went on to say that marriage can be a false “security” and that “it’s harder to break up after you’re married.”
“So when you’re going through a hard time or something really bad happens or something really difficult happens, it’s a lot easier to walk away if there’s nothing you need to resolve legally,” she shared. “I know that’s not why I want to be with someone, but there’s this idea, this security of, ‘Okay, this is a particularly difficult thing, so maybe we’ll both stick with it.'”
Holmes interjected, “Isn’t that the exact opposite of what you want to happen? ‘I’m just staying with you because it’s hard to get away from you.'”
Robach explained that this was not the way she wanted to “have a relationship” with Holmes.
“I still acquiesce to that. I just acknowledge it,” she revealed. “I’m not saying it means anything, but I’m just acknowledging that I can say, ‘That’s the husband and I’m his wife.'” It feels more formal, it feels more real, even though that doesn’t have to be the case because we’ve lived enough of life to know that’s not the case. “
Holmes agreed, noting that “it’s almost a stronger commitment not to get married because you can get divorced tomorrow.”

Robach revealed during an episode of their “Amy & TJ” podcast that she hopes to have a wedding in the fall. Holmes added that he would consider them a couple “sooner rather than later.”
“I say that based on exclusive conversations I’ve had with the bride,” he said. “I say that because we’re not trying to figure things out. We’re not trying to see if we want to be together. We’re not trying to do a trial run to see if this thing works. That’s not where we are right now.”
