Anaergia has contracted with Italian company Techbau through its subsidiary, which involves five new biomethane production plants in the country.
Under the contract, Anaergia will provide the necessary equipment for the biomethane production process. Meanwhile, Techbau will supervise engineering, procurement and construction.
The plants will use Anaergia’s anaerobic digestion technology throughout southern Italy, converting agricultural and food waste into renewable energy sources.
Each facility is designed to process more than 90,000 tons of raw materials each year, injecting approximately 234,000mWh of energy into the Italian national grid each year.
The project is expected to be fully operational by mid-2026, which leads to Italy’s renewable energy supply.
Anaergia is expected to admit revenue exceeds C$27 million ($188 million) of the joint venture.
Anaergia is a company specializing in the biomethane/renewable natural gas (RNG) sector, with over 250 patents on the technology to convert organic waste into RNG, fertilizers and water.
