Anaheim police shooting leaves 1 dead, at least 12 arrested

A 19-year-old man died Saturday night after a shooting inside a police station in Anaheim, officials said.
The shooting occurred after officers from a gang unit approached a group of more than a dozen people in the 800 block of South Philadelphia Street in Anaheim around 9:30 p.m., police said.
Law enforcement officials said a shootout broke out and a 19-year-old boy was shot. It was unclear whether police or members of the group fired first, and officials said Saturday it was unclear whether the bullet that killed the man came from the officer’s gun or someone else.
No officers were injured, and one person was hospitalized for minor injuries from less-lethal ammunition, police said.
Police said at least 12 people were arrested in the conflict and the case is still under investigation.
