Chula Vista, California – Annika Sorenstam scored a first-round lead at the U.S. Senior Women’s Open at San Diego Country Club on Thursday with a 70-shot percentage of 3.

Sorenstam won the competition in 2021 after winning the U.S. Women’s Open in 1995, 96 and 2006. The 54-year-old Swedes won 72 times on the LPGA Tour.

“I was very happy with the first round,” Sorenstein said. “I felt solid from the t-shirt to the green. I think I ended up doing some good approach shots on the right side of the flag, which was very helpful for this course.”

Moira Dunn-Bohls was on her back with amateur Lara Tennant and 72-year-old Barb Moxness, who improved her age. 2023 champions Trish Johnson and Corina Kelepouris suffered another stroke at the age of 72.

Karrie Webb scored 73 in his first career in the game.

“All the nerves and anxiety are sure to be there, and this is a lesson I don’t know you’re really comfortable with,” said Weber, 50.

Juli Inkster’s 75th foot, made a 50-foot eagle on her first hole 5-10.
