Amazon’s soup + coming next month

Amazon’s new and The improved version of Alexa is here called Alexa+. Next-generation upgrades are more conversational, can perform complex tasks, and are more personalized. Although it will start launching on the Select Echo Show device next month, Amazon claims it will eventually be available on Alexa-powered devices shipped by the company. It costs $20 per month, but it’s free for Amazon customers.

Here is everything you need to know about Amazon’s new and improved virtual assistant.

Alexa’s Generative AI Era

Amazon says Alexa+ is “smart than ever” and is able to pick your tone and provide answers in a more sympathetic voice. It even has more powerful visual features.

During the live demonstration, Panos Panay, who is in charge of Amazon’s equipment and services, used the Echo performance to take photos of the live audience and asked if people looked energetic. The crowd expressed appreciation at the start of the interaction, Alexa+ analyzed the images and said that everyone looked “very fired”, pointing out more detailed details such as how people turned on their laptops, and everyone’s eyes were on Panay.

Another big new feature is Alexa+’s ability to learn new information you provide. You can feed the assistant files, emails, study guides, and recipes, and it will remember everything, allowing you to request relevant information later. For example, if you upload a rule document in the Homeowner Association, you can ask Alexa+ a question like “Can I add solar panels to my house?”, which will refer to the rules. You can refer to any of your recipes that have been used previously (or handwritten recipes that have been fed to the assistant) and ask specific questions about the ingredients or measurements.

The broad topic is that you can usually ask Alexa+ a question in a natural way and should be able to help in some way. Before you might ask Alexa to “show me my doorbell feed”, you can ask Alexa+: “The last time someone takes the dog out for a walk?” You need to subscribe to the ring, but Alexa+ can get the context it sees through the security camera.

Alexa+ should also be easier to interact with every day. Instead of manually setting content through the application, you can create routines using voice. It is also easier to transfer music throughout the house. You can transfer it from the speaker to the speaker by simply saying “playing music downstairs” or “playing music everywhere but don’t wake up the baby”, and Alexa+ will know to play it in every room outside the child care.
