Australian bystander praises sharks to save women after attack

An woman was seriously injured in a shark attack on Australia’s east coast on Friday, the Ministry of Emergency Services said.

The 50-year-old woman was taken to the hospital by a rescue helicopter in a severe but stable rescue helicopter.

The attack took place on quaint beaches in southern Sydney. Andrew Bibby of the NSW ambulance said people on the beach heard her scream and rushed to her aid, even though the sharks still pose danger.

He said the injured woman probably wouldn’t have fallen out of the water, adding: “The onlookers who assisted before we get there are absolutely excellent.”

Not only did they pull the woman out of the water, they also did first aid before the paramedics arrived.

It was not known at first which type of shark attacked her.

9NEWS channel quoted residents’ citations reportedly that bull sharks have been seen in the area. In addition to great white sharks and tiger sharks, this species is considered one of the most dangerous types of predatory fish.

Recently, shark attacks in Australia have increased recently, especially in the tropical state of Queensland.

In February, a 17-year-old girl was injured on a bribery island near Brisbane. A man was killed while robbing near Hump Island on the Great Barrier Reef in December.
