International Red Cross says Gaza ceasefire must continue
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) warns of the end of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
“Everything to do to maintain the ceasefire must be done to keep lives free from hostilities, humanitarian aid enters Gaza and more families reunite,” ICRC President Mirjana Spoljaric Egger said in a statement issued on Sunday.
“In the past six weeks, any revelation of forward momentum has risked falling into despair,” she added.
Israel said on Sunday it had stopped all delivery to Gaza after the end of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement with Hamas, as it said the Palestinian group refused to accept the U.S. framework to continue negotiations.
Hamas’ pause in humanitarian aid is called “immoral blackmail, war crimes and serious violations of the agreement.”
