Ridiculous 5-star superhero comedy needs to need its own movie universe right away

Robert Scucci | renew

Dane Cook once said in 2005 revenge The album says if he had a superpower, he hoped to be able to shoot spaghetti from his fingertips. On the surface it’s a bit of a funny joke, but I like the concept because it’s fun to see this useless skill when trying to fight crime.

Apparently, Winston Carter, Benjamin Crutcher and Mark Potts also thought it was a good idea because they made the 2016 movie spaghetti Based on this idea. I’m not saying they stripped the comedian who somehow stood out in his popularity when he was joking, but it’s hard to ignore the parallel lines.

spaghetti This is exactly what it sounds like: a person has a peculiar superpower that can shoot cold pasta with his fingertips. But if he rescues you from an attack, a robbery, or worse, he will sit there with his hands until you pay for his service.

Pasta is a real movie

spaghetti In a sense, it’s a real movie that you can stream and it’s listed on IMDB. What it doesn’t have is the budget, star power or real setting. It’s a ridiculous passion project, but it works because it tends to be ridiculous.

Clark (Benjamin Crutcher) is out of work and is reluctant or unable to find a meaningful job. His roommate Dale (Winston Carter) pushed the pencil to the police station because he had been unable to get his badge to win. One night, Clark fell asleep on the sofa while microwaved pasta, and a freak accident changed his life forever. When he woke up, he found himself capable of shooting spaghetti from his hands.

Perform perfect stupid settings

I’ll be the first to admit spaghetti There is no redeemed quality in terms of production, but I also have to say how great the film is. Clark has no interest in becoming a superhero. He uses his new power to stop criminals from committing minor crimes, but only before asking the person he rescued to pay. The pasta action was financially motivated, and he made it clear to Dale, who really wanted to serve and protect his community.

Clark’s antics never stop. As Spaghettiman, he ran around town in a paper bag with eye holes, stroking the day with bad guys with wet pasta. Then, he reached out and waited for the cash. He was also very patient. If a victim of a robbery is out of the stress, he will wait 45 minutes before he wakes up so he can charge $60. After all, there is strong financial responsibility.

The unknown actor knows the mission

What is it spaghetti The job is that its cast is entirely dedicated to it. My favorite running gag involves Clark sprinting to save the day and then has to double down because of forgetting the keys. On paper, this is not fun. But Benjamin Crutcher sells it every time, showing Clark’s selfishness and incompetence, even if he unexpectedly benefits the community.

This movie won’t change your life, but if you like ridiculously low-budget projects, it will offer. I laughed loudly, more than I wanted to admit, and after 87 minutes of running time, I threw it away again whenever I needed a taste bud cleanser. spaghetti If you go looking for something stupid to stand out, it’s definitely worth your time.

spaghetti At the time of writing, stream for free on Tubi. Honestly, I would pay the standard four dollars if I need it.
