NATO Secretary-General Rutte travels to Odessa with Zelensky
NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte traveled to the port of Odessa on Tuesday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“The Ukrainian people have endured a lot – especially the Russian palm attack on Sumi on Sunday,” Rut wrote on Platform X.
Rut assured Ukraine that the continued support of the Western military alliance NATO.
At least 35 people were killed in a Russian missile strike on Sumy on Sunday.
Zelensky posted a video on his telegram channel about a joint visit to a military hospital in Odessa. The head of state awarded the injured medal in Rutte’s presence.
In their joint negotiations, the strengthening of Ukrainian air defense was discussed in particular. “Absolutely everyone sees Ukraine’s urgent need for air defense systems and missiles,” Zelensky wrote, reiterating Kiev’s willingness to buy Patriot air defense systems.
Ukraine has been defending its own Russian-Russian invasion for more than three years.
