Kate was also angry when Ted said he loved all his children equally: her, Martin and Eva. Kate couldn’t understand that Ted would love all his children equally, no matter who their mother was. Ted never intended to start a second family; that was a mistake. But Shanice has no children of her own. She is at an age where her biological clock is functioning normally. It’s not like Ted is over the hill. If he wanted to settle down with Shanice and she wanted kids, I could see Ted saying, “Well, let’s do this.”
