Serbian president participates in Victory Day parade in Moscow

Russia announced on Friday that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has accepted an invitation to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.

The Kremlin said after a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Vučić that Vučić also plans to send a camp from the Serbian armed forces to participate in a military parade in Moscow’s Red Square.

Russia celebrates May 9, a Victory Day in World War II, and it is called the Great Patriotic War. Many heads of state are expected to be held at this year’s event, including Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

Vučić has adopted a rather Russian policy and has not yet participated in Western sanctions in Moscow. He has participated in the parade in the Russian capital in the past few years.
