Brandel Chamblee reveals Bryson DeChambeau slow game controversy

Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee never avoids criticizing Liv Golf. Liv’s biggest stars, such as Bryson DeChambeau, also rarely get a pass. But Chamblee has nothing to say about Dechambeau in his latest podcast episode.
In addition to calling Bryson the “top 5 players in the world”, he also revealed that Dechambeau had a fierce slow-race dispute with R&A rules officials at the 2025 Open Championships.
He argued that the dispute demonstrates why the two-time U.S. Open champions will bring huge boons to the 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup team.
DeChambeau complains about slow races when open
The fact that DeChambeau encountered slow races during the Open at Royal Protush is not news. After the third round, Bryson revealed that his pairing was done for playing.

“[The R&A] Officials said we were just wasting time all the time,” DeChambeau explained at the Open. “Unfortunately, in the 16/17 exchange, you had a downhill, driving hole that you could play very quickly if you got it in the right position. They did, and we just lost more time in the group in front of us. They put us in time, which is unfortunate. ”
He also suggests a simple solution to slow down career activities: keep everyone on time.
“It’s very simple,” DeChambeau said. “It’s not difficult. You put everyone’s entire round time into practice alone. It’s simple. No one wants to do it. Because people are too afraid to be exposed. I’m an advocate. I’m tempted to schedule it, and I have no problem with it.”
Chamblee reveals new details about Bryson’s slow game flaps
In this week’s episode of the podcast “Favorite Chamblee,” Brandel Chamblee talks about DeChambeau and the Open with his wife Bailey Chamblee.
At that time, Brandel revealed in the Open that the quality of DeChambeau’s slow race was better than previously known.
Chamblee said in his explanation of how Bryson “continuous” in the course that when DeChambeau was placed when it was public, he was “face-to-face” with the rules of “face-to-face” officers.
“[Dechambeau] Telled to speed up 17 [at the Open Championship] I think he took a strong exception to this in the third round. Facing the R&A guy, Charblee said on the podcast: “So he can be stupid. He has a little Eddie Haskell. When the camera boards, he turns it on and wants to look like he’s doing the right thing, pretending to be doing the right thing, but there’s me, me, me, my environment.”
Why “Cantankere” Dechambeau is good for Ryder Cup
It must be noted that Chamblee’s comments do not mean slightly to DeChambeau. Instead, Charblee takes the dispute over open slow gaming as an example, which is why Bryson influenced the 2025 Ryder Cup in a positive way.
Chamblee said DeChambeau was the American team’s lockdown, adding: “You can’t deny that he is one of the most exciting players in the golf game and one of the best players in the golf game, and he will add to the crazy vibe of the Ryder Cup.”
He then elaborated on why Bryson held the Ryder Cup in Bethpage Black this September.
“He was a hell for a player, hitting 9 miles and doing all these amazing things so he’s going to be great in the Ryder Cup and fans will love it,” Charblee said. “So, I think the Ryder Cup will be intensified because he is there.”
