Brazil’s former president Bolsonaro has a stomachache in hospital

Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has been hospitalized for severe abdominal pain, Senate opposition leader Rogério Marinho said on X on Friday.

Right-wing Bolsonaro is currently facing allegations of coups against the government against his successor Lula Da Silva (Lula) and was seriously injured when he was attacked by attackers while running in the Juiz de Fora in the state of Minas Gerais in September 2018. He has undergone several surgeries since then.

Marinho accompanied Bolsonaro to a party held in Do Norte, Rio Grande Do, Northeastern region. The former president was initially taken to a municipal hospital in the morning and later transferred by helicopter to a private clinic in Natal City.

Bolsonaro lost to Lula in the national election in October 2022.

In March, the Supreme Court allowed the charges against Bolsonaro and seven alleged co-conspirators to continue. If convicted, he could be sentenced to several years in jail.
