Butch Harmon believes 1 Move will curb slow game

Butch Harmon said he knows how he can curb slow racing.
At least for most players.
He said: “The old story a few years ago was very slow and he opened up in the United States. I think it might even be the first or second round. And Joe Dye, who is the head of the USGA, they went out and told Mr. Hogan that if you don’t speed you up, we’ll have to shoot you twice.”
“He said, now I’m giving me two shots, so I have more holes and I know how many more birds I have to do because I’m not speeding up.”
Despite this, Harmon believed in his thoughts. Golf Hall of Fame member and former coach of Tiger Woods is a guest on the latest episode of the “Butch of Butch” podcast, hosted by his son Claude Harmon III, while the young Harmon III played Patrick Cantlay on the tour last month.
He said he was a great player and asked a question.
“But what the hell is going on?” the young Harmon said on the podcast. “I mean, I watched him on the 8th hole. He watched the holes with seven holes. I blame the tour. I 100% blame the tour on all the tour because if they want to stomp on slow games, they can.”
Here, Butch Harmon proposes a fix.
“Two shots,” he said.
It is worth noting that although this year, the speed of the game has been a constant topic of golf. In January, the trip announced many moves, including ideas for the “name and shame” players.
On the podcast, Butch Harmon said that what is invalid is the fine.
“These guys don’t care about money,” he said. “They’re all millions of people. You don’t let them speed up. You shoot them twice and that can make them lay off employees, which can make them win games, which can make them pay the price.”
Claude Harmon III added: “It may be putting them into the Ryder Cup.”
The back and forth between father and son ended with mentioning Tommy Fleetwood, who worked with Butch Harmon, and paired with Cantlay in the final round of the Tour Championship before winning.
“I said to Tommy, is it bothering you? I said, I know you were in the 11th hole; I saw them coming to you.” “But you always struggled on the 8th hole because they both have rulings, and that’s how they lag behind.
