Cantlay takes out clutch putter in TGL finals to lead Atlanta 1-0

Palm Beach Gardens, Florida – Patrick Cantlay took over again with putters, giving Atlanta Drive a 6-5 win over New York by making a 6-foot birdie putter and leading New York 1-0 in the opening game of the TGL Indoor Golf League.

Xander Schauffele had a chance to send the game to the gunfight with a 6-foot birdie putt, but it grabbed the right edge and fell down.

The second final of the High-Tech League was Tuesday night, followed by a third game immediately if necessary.

After alternate shots on nine holes, the score tied with 2. Cameron Young made a 9-foot Hawk putt to lead New York 4-2 as Atlanta challenged the Hammer to make the hole worth two points. Atlanta’s Billy Horschel won favor and made an 11-foot birdie putt when New York threw a hammer.

When Atlanta’s Justin Thomas won Bogey’s 13th hole, it just lets Horschel hit his tee with a 3-5-foot stick in exchange for a confessed birdie.

The winner received $9 million on Tuesday – $2.25 million for each of the four players – and the runner-up was $4.5 million.
