Carlos Alcaraz continued to join his resume on Sunday, his second open title and his sixth overall. The 22-year-old made it take no time to turn his attention to his biggest goal: completing a professional grand slam.

The Spaniards claimed two crowns at Roland Garros, Wimbledon and The Um open. The only major left is the Australian Open, who will work hard to get glory at the start of next season.

“To be honest, this is my first goal. When I was in the preseason, I was in the [see] What I want to improve is the goal I want to achieve, the Australian Open is there,” Alkaraz said. “It’s the first or second game of the year and it’s always my main goal in completing a professional grand slam, a calendar grand slam. So it will be great. ”

Alcaraz does more than just lift the U.S. Open Trophy. By defeating Jannik Sinner, the 23-time Tour-level champion also regained the world No. 1 from the Italian’s PIF ATP rankings. This is the first time since September 2023.

“Since I had the chance to get back to No. 1, it was one of my first goals of the season, just trying to get back to No. 1 as soon as possible or ending in the first year,” Alkaraz said. “For me, it was a dream to achieve that again. [it] On the same day, it would be better to get another Grand Slam. This is everything I work for and I am really happy to be able to achieve these experiences. ”

Alcaraz’s coach Juan Carlos Ferrero always tries to pull the maximum from his allegations. But even the former World One, it was said several times on Sunday night that Alcaraz had a “perfect” match against Sinner.

“He always wishes I could do my best and I don’t have to do it too many times, I’d say he said, I played well. So for me, it was a huge win,” Alkaraz said. “But yes, he’s right. I think I played perfectly. I played very well.”

The champion lost just one game in the game – Sunday against the Sinners – lost only three times, becoming the second men’s singles champion of the Grand Slam since 1991, losing three or fewer service games on his way to Glory. Pete Sampras, the only one who did it, accomplished the feat in 1994 and 1997 at Wimbledon.

“I think it’s the best tournament. Since the first round ended, it’s the best tournament I’ve ever been in,” Alkaraz said. “The consistency of my level has been very, very high throughout the game and I am very proud of it because it’s something I’ve been working on to be consistent.”

Alcaraz and Sinner met three consecutive major finals and it is safe to say that this is not their last clash at a big moment. Alcaraz now leads the Lexus ATP Head2head series 10-5, but will continue to find ways to learn from their encounters.

“I like watching him play. I think it’s incredible. Secondly, it’s because I like to learn about him, the way he plays, the way he feels in the game [so] If I played him in that game, just to get the way he played in the tournament,” Alkaraz said, “I wouldn’t say he was predictable, but I know his style. I know what he is going to do or his main weapon [in] His game. So, I’m just trying to focus on that. ”

Currently, Alcaraz will enjoy this moment. There are goals like winning the two remaining ATP Masters 1000 events of the season and winning the Nitto ATP final for the first time, but the Spaniard will be immersed in the hard work of New York.

“It’s a great feeling. So good. I just worked hard to lift this trophy. It’s my second trophy, but it’s still a dream, a dream come true,” Alkaraz said. “The second one here is very special.”
