Carnival, Royal Caribbean parade delayed by whirlwind
As tropical cyclone Alfred approaches tropical cyclone in Queensland, Australia, the cruise ship is adjusting its operations.
The cruise line told USA Today that the Carnival Lumino ship on the Carnival Cruise Line will be postponed to return to Brisbane. “Given its current track, the storm is expected to directly affect the Brisbane area in the coming days and the port is now closed,” a spokesperson said in an emailed statement.
According to Cruisemapper, the ship departed from Brisbane on February 23 for a cruise that will end on Thursday.
The spokesman added that Carnival Luminosa may return on Saturday morning once safe. “The captain is sailing safe distance from the storm to minimize discomfort for our guests,” the statement said.
The next cruise of the ship will begin Thursday and will be cancelled. Guests will be fully refunded for their fare and any pre-order items.
The government predicts that the two are standing on Surfers Paradise Beach in front of the Gold Coast apartment block on March 6, 2025. Tropical Cyclone Alfred spent the night in the busy city of Bushy Busy Bristhis, slowing down the night above the Coral Sea.

Royal Caribbean International’s quantum was also delayed due to the storm. A spokesman for Royal Caribbean Group, the parent company of the line, told Royal Caribbean Group in an emailed statement that he told Royal Caribbean Group in an emailed statement.
According to Cruisemapper, the ship left Brisbane on February 28 and is scheduled to return on Friday. The company has not addressed questions about the ship’s subsequent voyage or whether the guests will receive compensation.
Hurricane Alfred stopped on Australia’s east coast on Thursday while residents stockpiled supplies and sandbags to prevent expected flooding when the storm hit.
The Meteorological Bureau said in its latest update that the storm is now likely to land near Brisbane, a third-popular city in Australia.
Brisbane Airport said it would suspend operations around 4pm on Thursday, but its terminals opened their doors for defense operations.
Qantas said its international operations from Brisbane will be suspended until noon Saturday and domestic flights until Sunday morning.
