October 2nd is National Custody Day and we have many unique ideas to help you celebrate!
Every educator knows that if it weren’t for the guardian staff, the school would collapse. They keep your school running every day (even if your latest craft projects involve major flash overflows), providing students with clean and neat space to learn and grow. While we think they should be celebrating every day, National Day of Warranty is a day on the calendar.
National Custodian Day 2025 will be held on Thursday, October 2. Consider starting your week with their honors, or say hello at the door with coffee and donuts. Or try one of these custodian appreciation activities that are rounded in real schools across the country.
Invite the custodian to attend the story time
Invite your custodian to join your course on the carpet. They can even be guest readers if they want. Check out these 10 books celebrating school custodians to find the perfect reading.
Create a sincere thank you
Thanks is indeed very important. Create a single card, or use a large version from each class. Make sure that expressions are what makes your hosting special. Read open letters to detainees for inspiration and then have students write their own books.
Write a book for them
Take things one step further by organizing a note from thank you! Have each student write notes or draw a picture and tie them together into a sweet gift.
Sign a banner
Create a large banner filled with notes from children and staff. This is easy to make and make sure to make them smile!
Showing their photos, and even some interesting facts about each of the hosts. Or show them actions to help children on an educational journey.
Conduct celebrations
Let the students work together in the hall and cheer for their custodians as they walk by! It’s a personalized style that really shows the staff their value.
Deck hall
Decorate the hall or guardian office with signs, balloons and other festival decorations. Get students involved because they are the ones who truly benefit from the hard work of the guardian.
Decorate their doors
Have the kids decorate the doors of the host’s room/closet and have positive information about the importance of the host to them.
Create a certificate
Print certificates they can hang on the wall to celebrate students and employees’ appreciation. Includes a picture for the children to color or paint space.
Leave them notes
This is an easy way to celebrate National Custodian Day 2025, just some sticker! It takes only a minute or two to write a message that can really make someone a day.
take a break
Ask your students to do any daily tasks on National Storage Day to give your cleaning staff a break!
Customize some cookies
Visit your local bakery and ask them to customize cookies for special days with a custodian or cleaning theme.
Show them that they are your rocks
Draw rocks with special information for your detainees. You can also draw murals or decorate the sidewalks leading to the school.
Buy lunch (or dinner)
Everyone loves a free meal! Be sure to ask what they want and remember to adapt to dietary restrictions if necessary.
National Custody Day Gift Ideas
