What is a classroom management plan?
Classroom management includes strategies and techniques teachers use to create and maintain a passionate, tempting and productive learning environment. This includes having clear expectations, managing student behavior, managing routines, and building a good classroom space.
There are a lot of classroom management, so it makes sense to have a plan or outline how you will handle the various situations and precautions that arise throughout school. Some things to consider:
- How will you organize your space?
- How will you build a positive relationship with your students?
- What are your classroom rules? Who decides them?
- How will you enforce classroom rules and expectations? What happens when students violate these rules?
- How will you help students complete transitions and perform classroom routines?
Classroom management plans help answer all of these questions.

Why is it important to develop a classroom management plan?
Teachers make at least 1,500 decisions per day on average. Classroom management plans can help reduce the workload of decision-making by developing a plan to solve all the problems of how to solve how to hand over the paper to what students should do when they violate the rules. Literally, it can unleash your mind and focus on guiding and the students in front of you.
Making a plan can help you stay consistent. If you encounter something that should be done when something happens – students don’t attend classes, somebody keeps attending classes, students break the rules – you can consult your plan and be consistent and confident about the next step.
Finally, a clear classroom management plan makes it easier for alternative teachers to step in and fill your shoes when they are out.
