Five people were sent to the hospital following a helicopter crash in Huntington Beach on Saturday afternoon.
The Huntington Beach Police Department and Huntington Beach Fire Department responded to a crash at Pacific Coast Highway and Huntington Street on Saturday, according to the police department’s social media post.
Two people were rescued from the helicopter and three others were injured on the street, police said.
Video of the crash posted on social media showed the helicopter veering dangerously close to a building before spinning out of control and plowing into a stretch of road or walkway at the edge of the beach.
Police said the PCH is closed between Beach Boulevard and Huntington Street, noting that drivers should avoid the area and use alternative routes.
