Recently we saw a few uninvited guests knocking on Stephanie’s door. The first is her psychotic ex-boyfriend Jeremy Horton (Trevor Donovan), who has pink flowers and makes lots of excuses for his past actions. The second uninvited guest is ace reporter Leo Stark (played by Greg Rikart). He also showed up at Stephanie’s doorstep, but without flowers. Instead, Leo brought accusations and rumors that Stephanie was the person behind the pen name Anastasia Sands. Although Stephanie shuts down Leo, it’s obviously only a matter of time.
EJ DiMera’s Betrayal: How Stephanie’s Secret Got Out to Leo Stark
What really sucks is EJ DiMera (Dan Ferrigal) betraying Stephanie to Leo. EJ reveals her secret and says he’ll keep it a secret so Leo won’t ask any more questions. First, he asked about the power outage and whether hospital construction was to blame. Leo then also asked who shot him. This is something little Elvis really wanted to avoid revealing because it would be a little scary for Rachel Black (Alice Halsey).
So EJ scrambles to spill her secret, and Leo now knows the truth. It’s only a matter of time before Stephanie’s big secret comes out. So, will Alex and Stephanie launch the Writers Reveal program? This way, they can ensure they control when and how the news is released, rather than leaking from the former reporting woman. If he was still a whistleblower, he would have leaked it. We know this.
One stormy night: Who knows the true identity of the best-selling author in our lifetime?
Stephanie’s first book”A stormy night“, written under the name Anastasia Sands, was extremely popular. It was a national bestseller. Everyone wanted to know who wrote it, but now only a few know that Stephanie wrote this sexy romance novel. It’s still a closely guarded secret. EJ and Keira Brady (Mary Beth Evans) know it. Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) knows it, Alex knows it, and now Leo knows it too. Plus, Jeremy figured this out by reading the book.
Because Stephanie feared her reputation as a public relations professional would be damaged, she remained uncomfortable with the idea of the public knowing she was the author. But that’s all about to change following Leo’s latest confrontation at the apartment.
Secrets from the Sky: How Stephanie’s past inspired her steamy novel on DOOL
When Stephanie first wrote the book, she wanted it published under a pseudonym so her PR clients wouldn’t think she was sketchy. She was shocked when Alex didn’t do what he was told and cut the Mile High Club section out of the book that Stephanie said had to be published. Jeremy realized this as he picked up the dirty book and read lightly. Stephanie adds in some sexy pilot stewardess naughty stuff that’s drawn from her past experience when Jeremy used to fly airplanes and Stephanie worked with him.
If you recall, EJ discovered the author’s secret when he mistakenly suspected Kayla was Anastasia when the hospital office hosted an online fan Q&A during a blackout. Stephanie admitted that she was the one who got Kayla off EJ’s charge. So, now, EJ, Kayla, Jeremy, Alex, and her editor Kate all know.
The Big Reveal: Will Alex convince Stephanie to take control of her narrative?
Stephanie does have her own issues with Leo, and she tries to contradict him by asking if she is really Anastasia Sands. But what’s abundantly clear is that Stephanie knows her identity has been compromised and will soon be revealed whether she wants it to or not. According to Alex, we also know that Julie Williams (Susan Seavers Hayes) wants to host a book signing during the grand reopening of her new bookstore in Houghton Town Square. But unless Stephanie reveals herself to be Anastasia Sands, that’s going to be hard to pull off.
Alex might make it clear to her that it’s time for Stephanie to announce to Salem and the world that she is the brains and pen behind Anastasia,”A stormy night” and the new mystery novel she’s writing is about to be published. He’s been gently pushing Stephanie to reveal it on Days of Our Lives. So, Alex thinks Stephanie should step out of the writer’s closet, quit her day job in public relations, and become a full-time writer. Now that Leo knows her big, dirty secret, that might happen sooner rather than later.
Days of Our Lives: Does EJ Have to Be Accountable for Bullshit?
When the reporter began to track down who shot him, he really got to know EJ. Of course, this panics him and prompts him to tell Leo Stephanie’s secret identity. I wonder if she’ll go back to EJ and scold him for revealing her sexy secret to Leo. Stephanie hoped EJ wouldn’t tell anyone, but he wasn’t particularly trustworthy. Now that he does, it might affect his working relationship with Stephanie, but EJ can’t let the secret out.
There’s also a problem because she may not 100% know it’s EJ. I don’t think Leo gave up his name. Therefore, whether Stephanie confronts EJ depends on whether she discovers that EJ was the source of the leak. Stephanie also knew that Jeremy knew and that he would tell people. So Stephanie probably thought Jeremy telling Leo about her sexy romance novel was some kind of revenge.
Strategic move: Exclusive interview or grand public appearance?
With all these looming risks that could knock her out, we could see Alex convincing Stephanie to move quickly and come up with a killer press release or some kind of big debut event. Alex probably wanted Stephanie to make a splash and announce that she was the woman behind this remarkable book. He actually thinks Stephanie’s reputation as a PR representative won’t be damaged, and he actually thinks it’ll be good for her business. So Alex would rather see Stephanie quit that job and pursue her dream of becoming a full-time writer anyway.
Over the next few weeks, we can see Stephanie and Alex come up with a plan to introduce her as Anastasia Sands. They were supposed to make a big announcement. We’ll see if that’s that or something else, but it’s definitely something worth considering. I do wonder if this reveal will backfire as Stephanie fears, or if it will be as surprising as Alex hopes it will be, as he’s always told her.
I know Stephanie would rather tell someone herself than let Leo expose her. Maybe Alex and Stephanie could contact Leo and offer him an exclusive interview or something so he doesn’t leak it before they hope to officially release it. Regardless, time passed before the world knew that Stephanie was Anastasia Sands.
