Disney is reimagining Disney Studios at Disneyland Park as a Disney World of Adventure, meaning new attractions. Two of them will be based on 1994 The Lion King Movies and 2009 upBoth have obtained their first large theme park attraction to celebrate their respective 30th and 15th anniversary in 2024.
Disney revealed construction on Saturday The Lion King The previously announced (not currently named) ride will begin in the fall. Park players will ride in wooden troughs, taking them to a cave under 120 feet of Pride Rock, followed by a 52-foot drop as they experience the biggest moments of the movie, and Simba’s journey from the lion cub to the real ruler of the kingdom. The concept art below shows the audio animations of young Simba, Timon and Pumbaa, as well as the height of the ride itself as you enter. Disney promises this will be one of the biggest attractions of the adventure world, and it will have “a lot of dining, shopping and opportunities to meet some favorite characters”.
