Easy Ways to Use Artificial Intelligence in Classroom – Teaching

go through Teaching staff
Whether we like it or not, artificial intelligence (AI) has changed the world in many ways.
Education is one of the areas affected by it. How can teachers use AI and guide students through a challenging world of new technologies?
Although AI-based tools are fairly new, we can safely say that they may become increasingly common in our daily lives. The cat is out of the box and it won’t recover. We may soon wake up in a world full of AI assistants and smart tools, but today’s decisions will impact the future.
AI is now a real challenge in education, and parents and teachers face a very important question: “How do we teach children to use these new tools safely and responsibly?”
After all, educational technology is nothing new. Kids have been using computers, smartphones and the internet, but we all know that while these tools can be helpful, they can also be abused.
The Internet is full of knowledge, but there are also false information. Google cannot replace critical thinking. Artificial intelligence may be the same – this may be useful, but it may also make future adults overly dependent on it.
That’s why teachers today are starting to help kids understand what new technologies can and cannot do.
How we approach AI in education
Basics and risks
Before you let students use Chatgpt or other AI tools, explain what they do and how they work. Are AI chatbots really “intelligent”? From a student’s point of view, it answers questions in natural language and can provide profound insights, but does that mean it is always right?
You should teach students what language models and AI tools are and why they work. It means they have obtained a lot of data from which they come up with the answer, but that doesn’t mean they know what they are doing. Discuss the current moral dilemma – Why do people sue AI companies? What endangers?
It is also important to solve the security aspect. If students use AI, they should do so in a way that is safe for them. The teacher can explain that AI tools do not exist in a vacuum – all data is to the servers of the company involved, so children need to think before posting any personal information.
They should also use chatbots and other tools, especially to ensure their connections on public networks. Mobile VPN is a good solution – it encrypts data, so there is less chance of leaking to the outside world when using a smartphone on an unsafe network.
AI is a critical thinking learning tool
AI can provide a huge help when teaching students to do research and think critically. Are you worried that your child will rely too much on their AI assistant? If so, show them how to avoid this.
Students are asked to use AI tools to find answers and solutions to specific questions. Then, discuss these answers with the class. Are they enough? Are they biased or wrong? If so, how do students know?
Such exercises can help students discover why AI can be a useful tool in some cases, but it cannot replace thinking and understanding the subject.
Twisting the table
Children love to investigate and dissect things. Use this childlike curiosity and competitiveness to play to your strengths. What if you did not check their papers, but instead checked the chatbot’s papers?
If you are talking about a book, generate text and have your students criticize and fact check. Let them show off their knowledge of the material and point out invalid or weak arguments. Ask them to object to the argument of chatbots.
Kids usually like to compete if you provide them with a safe and engaging environment. Criticizing Chatgpt’s work will test their knowledge and tell them that “smart chatbots” may not be that smart.

Creativity Booster
AI can be a great tool for enhancing creativity, so why not use it in the classroom? Have your students come up with ideas with the help of chatbots and criticize their quality. Let them build on the idea of Chatgpt or other chatbots and improve them.
Remember that AI can also help you as a teacher. Don’t have any ideas on how to lead the next class? Maybe a chatbot can inspire creativity.
Personal mentor
For decades before AI could completely replace teachers. After all, sitting in a classroom is not only about knowledge, but about human interaction. No one is willing to perform tasks assigned by the machine.
However, AI can act as a mentor to some extent. The teacher cannot be fully used at any time. You can encourage students to use AI at home to better understand topics – teaching them AI can also be wrong and the facts should be checked.
AI is also an excellent tool for self-testing. Students can give some facts and then tell them to ask them questions, just like a study partner.
Futuristic tradition
Many teachers are worried about theft of AI, and there is a good reason. People are sometimes lazy. If we can choose the simple method, we will choose the simple method. Students have introduced papers generated using Chatgpt, and although this shows some technical performance, it is still a workaround.
Unfortunately, the human brain needs to learn to learn, which means that sometimes we have to do things in a more difficult way. The easiest solution is to focus more on classroom writing, where students must develop their arguments and learn to communicate on paper.
Think of chatbots as a kind of “calculator” – we let students use them to solve complex problems, but we still teach children how to perform math so they know why these problems are solved the way they do. Artificial intelligence is the same in written form.
Summary
The education system should not allow children to support themselves in rapidly changing technologies, but help them use it to their strengths.
AI doesn’t have to be the enemy of the teacher. Better yet, it can be an assistant. Helping children understand their abilities and limitations is the best we can do to foster a responsible generation.
