Nicholas Ranstad Daily Mail Kirk’s shooting was well-planned, but not perfect.
He said the Utah Valley University rally was like a sniper’s “fish bowl” with open space and high ground on nearby roofs.
“It’s a buffet for someone who wants to kill someone,” he said, noting that there is a lack of serious safety and a relaxed shooter angle. Ranstad explains that even a regular shooter, 200 yards are simple.
The calm wind outside the city makes the camera easier.
He added: “Any guy can get into three to four ranges and shoot.”
The sniper still said the details of the attack showed that even if the shooting was deadly, the killer was not a professional soldier.
Kirk’s killer didn’t use AR-15

After the attack, many believed the weapon used was AR-15, which was associated with several mass shootings.
But, Lanstad said it was not true. After reviewing the sound and video of the moment Charlie Kirk shoots, he insists it is a stronger rifle.
“It sounds like a high-power rifle, maybe a bolt action,” he explained. It could be a .308 bolt action or a 7.62 caliber weapon.
Sgt. The AR-15 made a sharp sound, but the shooting that killed activists had deeper echoes.
This detail shows that the shooter chose a gun made for long-term accuracy rather than speed.
For Lanstad, this choice suggests that the attack is not random, but planned.
The assassin wants precision and may have considered each step before firing a single deadly bullet.

Even with all the plans, Lanstad found a big mistake that proved that the shooter was not fully trained.
Kirk was hit on the neck, but Ranstad thought the killer was targeting his head.
“He probably aimed at the head, but without considering the wind, the bullet pulled a little bit.”
The trained sniper added that the shooter did not adjust correctly for the drop or shooting angle of the bullet.
The video also hints at a bad trigger for right-handed shooters, which Lanstad says is another sign of inexperience.
For skilled snipers, it is unlikely to hit the wrong area. For him, neck shots showed nerves and adrenaline.
He even suggested that the killer might just be a “Internet shooter”, a person who practices the scope, but does not have the discipline of a well-trained soldier.

When Charlie Kirk collapsed, thousands of people watched in horror. The graphic video shows him the asshole pouring blood from his neck. The panic immediately followed, the crowd screamed and ran for safety.
According to Ranstad, the wound gave his father two chances of survival.
“I think he died on the spot,” he said. “I’ve seen similar artery bleeding, you have a few seconds.”
Safety is eager to take action, but the open amphitheater is barely covered. The shooter fired only one bullet, disappeared, and extended a huge pursuit.
FBI agents and local police rushed into the area, briefly detaining two men before letting them go.
Lanstad said the fact that the shooter only fired his shots showed the plan and intention of the attack.
“Often, crazy people fired 30 rounds. It’s one shot, that’s it. I think, they have a plan.”
