When I first heard nannyI was a little nervous. After all, this is a Netflix exclusive horror movie (Strike One) directed by MCG, McG brings us Terminator Redemption (Strike two). After years of seeing it in my Netflix queue, I decided to shoot it one night, and this movie is definitely a horror revelation, what to do for the modern killer Screaming It did so back in 1996, and this is the reason by asking the most provocative questions: One family Was it a horror movie?
Prerequisites for 2017 nanny It’s simple: A high school freshman is quite attuned to his hot nanny, thanks to his parents’ frequent stay in hotels, mom/dad’s private time. He never had any reason to worry about his nanny, but he made a mistake because of what he and her friends would encounter after they fell asleep. They proved to be full-blown worshippers, and when he discovered their Satanic mischief, he needed all the wisdom to avoid being their next sacrifice.
At first glance he seems completely doomed to fail, but no one knows his house as much as our young protagonist. This allowed him to go all out and bring Kevin McCallister to his potential killer, who weaponized everything from bug spray to the remaining fireworks. This effectively subverts the typical machete formula and it’s so fun to watch the obsession of the last boy who can take care of this murderous mob.
The film is largely due to Samara Weaving playing the titular babysitter. She is immediately sexy, supportive and psychotic, and she will have surprisingly fatal depth in one-dimensional characters. Most importantly, she blends into one with Judah Lewis, who brings interesting, serious, and truly subtle performances to our men.
The rest of the actors nanny It really knocked it down the park, which included Ken Marino and Leslie Bibb being a lovely quirky parent who unknowingly hired a murderer to look at his son. Bella Thorne Despicable girl Energy enters the circle of Satanists. The true Outstanding Worship, however, is played by Robbie Amell, who keeps an interesting connection with our heroes while clearly showing that he is only engaged in the murder business because of his love for the game.
As other critics have pointed out nanny Not on reshaping the Slasher genre, as most of its core elements (Housebound Slasher, surprising killer and resourceful hero) can be found in countless other types of movies. However, this film effectively combines all these elements into something that always feels fresh, novel and exciting. Even if director MCG openly wants to copy someone else’s homework, he can only scream in a horror director’s style – dream dreams.
The film is successful enough to guarantee a sequel, which deepens the relationships of some of the characters and enhances knowledge behind the creepy cult motives. The sequel is worth a try for many reasons (including the excellent performance of Jenna Ortega), but nothing like the original.
