NBA insider Brian Windhorst is preparing for a juicy deal for a serious crazy NBA offseason.
He called the NBA’s current state a chaotic summer.
“You have a log jam, so you have some teams stuck a little. So what you have is the perfect storm, the perfect secret to sports,” said Brian Windhorst. Ryen Russillo Podcast this week.
“The free agent market this year isn’t really there. There are only a few teams with space. It’s not a very high free agent. So, that means the way you change the team is through trades. And we have an interesting draft. There are a lot of different players in that draft that can stand out from the top five or six teams and are willing to do some teams on six.
So you put all of this together and it’s just a wandering pot bubbling. I hope there will be action. I think the crazy week of the deal will be in the draft. It’s always in July, but the draft week will be a crazy trading week. I think from the moment the finals ends, even before the finals ends, you start to see the real action.
As other teams reacted to rival deals, he went on to explain that its performance would be totally unpredictable, similar to the Geely vacation sold by the Boston Celtics to Damian Lillard through the Milwaukee Bucks.
“I think we’ll see the domino effect,” Winkhorst said. “It’s a little unpredictable for its development. Just expect a lot of action.”
