Everything Google announces in I/O 2025

Some of these Gemini features will be available for free to users of Android and Google web apps, but others (and a more powerful feature set) will be available via a paid subscription. Google’s $20 per month AI premium service has been renamed to Google AI Pro and the cost remains the same, although now with more limited features. The company’s full suite of AI services suites adds to $250 per month. $50 per month is expensive compared to Openai’s full-plan Chatgpt Pro

Gemini is actually an artist

Note to creative professionals and programmers: Google’s enhancements to its creative tools will make your work easier and more productive, or it will make you obsolete.

Jules is a “asynchronous encoding agent” designed to allow you to do rough designs on napkins and turn them into mature code or graphic design while showing you the work it does in the process.

There is also a new version of Google’s AI Image Generator called Imagen 4, which Google claims to generate more details in images, such as textures in AI-generated paintings or custom text in music posters.

Google also has some new AI video tools, such as Flow, a tool specially made for AI film creation. It allows you to upload photos or illustrations of characters, props, or landscapes and then use text prompts to animate them all into short movies. If you don’t have a photo, just type the generated prompt to get the visuals straight in the flow. You then construct a narrative video scene by describing the action in the text box. The company showed a generated video saying an old man was using a giant chicken in the back seat to get his car flying. The video doesn’t look that good, and it’s strangely plastic, but it’s about it.

An enhanced video generator called veo 3 is also included in the update, which Google says is smoother and more lifelike in understanding material physics.

Search for complete AI mode

Last year, on I/O, Google released its AI overview enhancements to search results, a feature that summarized results on the network at the top of the screen for some queries. The changes in the outcome are well known, from simply destroying to showing real illusions of plagiarism. Still, Google is now offering a more obvious AI gloss to its search experience.

To do this, Google makes search more oriented to chatbots through its new AI model. The search feature was first announced as an experiment and is now available in the default Google search experience for everyone in the United States. AI mode appears in one of the tabs in your search results, so you can click to switch to it if available.
