False posts about the “arrest” of the former Indonesian government abuse of unrelated editing
The video surfaced after news that an anti-planting agency in Indonesia raided the home of former West Java governor Ridwan Kamil, post that falsely claimed he was arrested. But the clip shows another politician, and there is no formal report that Ridwan has been sentenced to jail as of March 26, 2025.
The Indonesian language titled “Ridwan Kamil Arrested”, is a Facebook video that has received more than 54,000 views since its release on March 17. It shows officials escorting a man wearing a handcuffed mask.
“Drag them all so they end up going to jail together,” the text covered on the clip says.
The Jakarta Globe reported that authorities searched Ridwan’s residence on March 10 as part of an anti-plant investigation (archive link).
According to the publication, Indonesia’s Commission on Elimination of Corruption (KPK) is investigating allegations of advertising budgets for state-owned bank BJB when Ridwan served as governor of West Java from 2021 to 2023.

Similar Facebook posts also mistaken the man in the clip for Ridwan, but there is no official report recently arrested, as part of the anti-corruption probe.
