Fire officials said the fire was blown up in Burbank. Evacuation and removal

A brush fire broke out in Burbank Tuesday afternoon, prompting the evacuation of communities at the bottom of the foothills.

According to the Burbank Fire Department, the fire was reportedly known as the Bethany Fire, which was reportedly near Bethany Road and Amherst Avenue near the Burbank Fire Department.

By 4:30 p.m., the fire had consumed up to 10 acres of land, and officials called for evacuation orders above Bel Aire Drive and west of Walnut Avenue, as well as the Debell Golf Club.

At around 6 p.m., the department reported that progress of the fire had stopped and all evacuation orders were cancelled.

“Fire hoses have been placed around the fire to retain it,” Burbank fire officials said.

The crew was set to monitor the fire and continued to clean up throughout the evening, the department said.

Fire officials did not provide information about the possible start of a fire.
