Former event golfer Eugenio Chacarra wins Indians’ first European Tour title

Former LIV golfer Eugenio Chacarra overcomes a slow start and wins the Sunday European Tour title of the Indian Open.

Chacarra ended with 4 in the final round with 71 shots and won the ninth match of the European Tour. The Spaniard scored two shots before Keita Nakajima, who lasted 72 in the final round.

Chacarra participated in the match invitation, he won his fifth liv start but was excluded from the fireball lineup for the 2025 season by Espanyol Sergio Garcia.

“I’m very grateful for the opportunity,” he said. “You guys may have changed my life from today, so thank you.”

The 25-year-old Chacarra entered the final round of DLF Golf and Country Club with a one-shot lead, but started with double bogey and third bogey on the first hole to get back to the level of the week. He rebounded with five birdies on nine holes to regain the lead, and despite his bogey at No. 17, he has been on the lead.

“It’s been a tough day, we know it’s going to be a long day, it’s stressful, and obviously I really don’t want to start,” he said. “I know when I play at my best, I’m one of the best players in the world, and I’ve proved a million times.”
