Gaza’s humanitarian crisis may be the worst since the beginning of the war
According to the United Nations, the Gaza Strip “may face a war between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Movement Hamas, which began a year and a half ago.
Aid to civilians has been hampered in accordance with the military attacks in New Israel, a blockade of humanitarian aid delivery, which has been more than 50 days, deadly attacks on volunteers and massive restrictions on movements along the coast.
Since the resumption of the Israeli attack on March 18, almost all 43 international and Palestinian aid organizations have pointed out in an investigation that they “had to suspend or significantly cut services.”
Since then, the last time the United Nations estimates the number of Gaza residents is about 500,000.
Aid organization Oxfam reported that there was little clean drinking water as the facilities were bombed or stopped working because the last functional line for operating the sanitation facility was cut. At the same time, food is scarce and prices soar.
Israel accused Hamas of selling relief supplies at an exaggerated price by force and selling them to civilians at a high price.
Oxfam said emergency generators rarely operate due to exhausted fuel supply.
Meanwhile, the Israeli government is reportedly continuing to debate whether to strengthen the attack on Gaza or whether to wait for the outcome of indirect peace talks with Hamas.
Israeli media reported that at a security cabinet meeting of Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday night, far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and other ministers called for major offensiveness to completely destroy Hamas.
However, broadcaster Kan cited a senior government representative to report that Israel wanted to negotiate indirectly with Hamas amid the new ceasefire.
The last ceasefire phase ended a month ago. The Israeli armed forces then resumed their attacks in the Gaza Strip.
Israel said there were still 24 hostages in Gaza in the unprecedented attack on October 7, 2023, as well as about 1,200 people killed in the Israeli community and more than 250 hostages killed by Israeli people.
More than 51,200 people have been killed since then, according to Hamas Control Health Administration in the Gaza Strip. These figures do not distinguish between civilians and radical deaths.
