German Max shoulder MRI

GermánMárquez An MRI was performed on his shoulder this afternoon, relaying Patrick Sanders of the Denver Post. The Rockies have not put senior right-handers on the injured list. They currently call the problem a shoulder inflammation but are waiting for more details in the imaging.

Max managed only three innings against the Twins yesterday. He told reporters (including Thomas Harding of MLB.com) that the problem stems from his final start before the All-Star Game. He has a good appearance – Cincinnati hit a single shot with six innings, but obviously discomfort. He hopes that due to the break, the problem will be solved with a week’s break. This did not happen, and Marquez admitted yesterday that he and the training staff were considering skipping the next start.

This is an inappropriate time for injury. Márquez is an upcoming free agent. If he is healthy, he will likely be traded. The pitcher with an average score of 5.67 in 20 games does not seem to be a contender’s interest. Márquez’s Road Age (5.95) is even worse than at Coors Field (5.31).

Still, some teams can see him as a racing candidate in the market, which will starve to death by starting to pitch. Márquez was an above-average starter before undergoing Tommy John’s surgery in 2023. He averaged 95 mph on fastballs and was famous for his knuckle curves in the mid-80s. Marquez appears to be forming in the past six weeks.

The 30-year-old posted a 2.97 ERA in six games in June (although he gave up six unearned games on June 18). Márquez was bombed by the White Sox in his first appearance in July, and then arguably his best start in the aforementioned matchup against the Reds. Sunday’s start was a bad start – three games in as many innings as possible with four hits and walking – but it’s easy to forgive based on the injury. While he won’t be anyone’s top target, teams looking for a back-end starter can see him as an interesting up-and-up game Andrew Heaney,,,,, Aarons or Erick Fedde.

If Márquez needs a list of injuries, he will be out by next Thursday’s trade deadline. Even if he just skipped a turn, he wouldn’t be queuing up again before July 31. They may rush him back for a few days on July 29 or 30 to show his health, but it depends on the imaging results. Márquez’s salary is 10mm and if traded, you will get a 1mm mission bonus. He can also unlock $2mm bonuses in each of 140, 150 and 160 innings, but considering his current 98 1/3 frames, these goals are lofty goals and are now facing injuries.
