Gina Gershon Reunite without hesitation John Travolta For their new movie High roller – Especially after the two of them had such an incredible time Face/close.
“[John] As relaxed, professional, kind, kind and fun as I do Face/Close,” Gershon, 62, told Us Weekly. “[But] I want to come in Face/Close We sang more. During the setup period we have more time so when we sing, I really like it… there is a lot of time to kill. ”
Gershon is John Wo 1997 science fiction movie, terrorist castor Troy’s ex-girlfriend (Nicholas Cage). When Gershon told us that most of her screen time was spent with Cage, 61, but she still met Travolta behind the scenes, their mutual love for music brought them closer.
“I just remember singing [with him],” Gershon recalled. “We just hang out around and then we started to get excited again and I thought, ‘Oh my goodness, I sing with John Travolta. This is heaven. Do you know what I mean? This is really fun. ”
Of course, her role on screen is equally satisfying. Gershon noted that she “loves” to work with Woo because he is willing to hear his thoughts, which makes the experience feel more “collaborative”.
“Part of me isn’t exactly the original, I’ve been adding things here and there with the author’s permission.” “I said, ‘Can I throw something, guys?’ I’ll go [and] Keep working [it] One point, I’ll show John that he’ll like it, or he doesn’t like a few ideas, but at least I’m comfortable throwing it there and he’ll say yes or no. So, it feels very collaborative. ”
With all the wonderful memories of the actors and staff, she will be back Face/Close sequel? Paramount is indeed clicking Adam Wingard Directing a follow-up movie in 2022. The answer is Gershon’s loud “yes”, although her character seems to be killed in the last moments of the OG movie.
“I mean, we saw her dead, [but if] She miraculously did not die, I would be happy. I’ll join, are you kidding? ” she told us. Joan [Allen] And everyone? In two seconds. ”
Outside Face/Close Universe, Gershon hasn’t been reunited with Woo yet – but she and Cage once again teamed up with the incredible 2017. Now, she and Travolta cash.
“My manager was actually John’s manager, and she told me…’I talked to John about you, John loves you,” Geshen recalls how the project was achieved. “He hopes you can do that [movie with him]. …We haven’t seen each other in a long time and it feels like we are old friends. ”
Gershon portrays Travolta’s wife Ameila, a former FBI informant, who was kidnapped and used as a leverage in a high-bet casino robbery. Meanwhile, Travolta reprised the role of Mason Goddard, a master who aims to save his life’s love. Despite being separated from Mason and his other staff, Amelia is a key figure in the story, a character that brings Gershon into his love for the stunt work.
“I like to do as many stunts as I can, just because I like its body.” us. “I probably always want to do more stunts than they actually allow, and I always like, ‘No, no, really, I’m really good at it.’ Let me.’ I have to convince them to be in the middle of all the chaos.”
Gershon’s love for living on the edge certainly translates into her role on screen, as the actress is known for her portrayal of “strong woman”. Although Gershon is proud of this fact, she will be interested in exploring new aspects of typical prototypes.
She told us. “I think I like playing survivors, not victims, because I don’t like watching that. I mean, [my High Rollers] Features, [Amelia]she is very strong. She’s been training and it’s always her job, but…it’s fun to play someone who isn’t strong in the same way but they have to survive and do it. ”
