If you’re a guy, you probably haven’t seen 2018’s sheila and the power princesses. After all, why would you want to watch a series clearly Designed for young girls?
However, for anyone who loves animation, this show is well worth watching as it is adventure timewhich revives one of the most iconic series of the 1980s. Plus, it features rewarding character arcs, thrilling combat, and epic world-building, all wrapped up in a modern animated classic that’s near-perfect from start to finish.

The premise is sheila and the power princesses The distant planet Aether is slowly being conquered by the armies of Hordak, a biomechanical badass who won’t stop until he remakes the world in his vampire form. The rebels against him were losing ground until they acquired a secret weapon: Hordak’s former soldier Adora, who used her magic sword to transform into Sheila, the world’s most powerful warrior. But unless she can bring her best friend turned worst enemy to the angels’ side, the world will plunge into eternal darkness.
Best Friends Squad, Assemble

the real secret is sheila and the power princesses It’s not the sword; it’s the cast: Aimee Carrero (best known as menu) does a great job in her dual role, imbuing Adora with vulnerability and doubt while giving Sheila just the right amount of confidence and bravado. AJ Michalka (best known as Super 8) gives an equally powerful performance as Catra, who is ready and willing to burn down the world to hurt Adora. Luckily, our hero has the support of her two best friends: Bow (provided by Darker Starring Marcus Scribner) and Glimmer (voice) boys Star Karen Fukuhara).
These three do-gooders (Ball calls them the “best friend squad”) form the emotional core of the show, and their antics are sure to appeal to any young fan who respects the power of friendship. Still, as a middle-aged man, I was surprised at how endearing their relationship was, and it was emotionally very touching to see young people find time to play and encourage each other in the midst of a brutal war. For older viewers like me, maybe there’s a message there: No matter how much you’re dealing with, you’ll still feel better if you take time out to connect with your friends.
Ultimately: a TV renaissance that works

While revivals of beloved ’80s characters have always been hit or miss, sheila and the power princesses The original show has been improved on in every way. Why Men Like Sheila (No, Really!)

Having said that, sheila and the power princesses Still a show designed for a young female audience. So why would I position this as a show that men would secretly enjoy? First, it’s a revival Sheilainitially He-Man and the Masters of the Universea show that (if you’re an old nerd like me) might eat up your childhood.
I personally like the original very much Sheila And revisit it from time to time, but this new show is much better: it gives these classic characters a much-needed makeover while giving them the deep character and interconnected lore of a modern epic. It’s worth noting that the show is also much better than Netflix’s Masters of the Universe: RevelationKevin Smith’s He-Man show featured smooth animation, but it didn’t really change these familiar characters. I like Enlightenmentbut it doesn’t really take a lot of creative risks; in contrast, sheila and the power princesses Big creative shift after big creative shift, almost all of them connected.
Modern animated classic

The new show is also reminiscent of other cartoons that men enjoy…for example, if you like watching Finn’s blunders from one crazy situation to the next adventure timeyou’ll love how Adora dives into one Horde trap after another. If you enjoy watching Aang discover his true potential “Avatar: The Last Airbender”you’ll love seeing Adora fully realize Sheila’s power. Finally, if you appreciate the family atmosphere here star wars rebelsyou’ll appreciate how Sheila emphasizes the importance of finding your tribe and doing everything you can to protect them.
do you agree sheila and the power princesses Is it a girl power masterpiece that guys will secretly love, or will you decide to hit the back button instead of watching it from beginning to end?
