How many games will Luka Doncic miss for the Lakers?

After a hot start for the Lakers, we NBA fans are dismayed to learn that Luka Doncic is now out with an injury, so when can we expect him back?

Doncic is expected to miss at least next week with a left finger sprain and left calf contusion.

“He suffered a leg contusion after hitting his finger on his non-shooting hand and then being hit in the leg during Friday’s game against Minnesota,” according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.

He later added, emphasizing that the injury was not serious, “The Lakers believe giving him some time now should be enough to resolve the issue, and we are discussing Luka’s return to the lineup next week.”

Lakers insider Jovan Buha breaks down the technical details of Doncic’s weeklong absence and when he might actually return.

“The question now is, technically, a week from today, that’s going to cover four games, and then their fifth game next Sunday is against Miami, and then they’re going to have another back-to-back against Portland, traveling to Portland on Monday,” Buha explained on his YT. “So, I don’t know yet whether it’s going to be four games, five games or six games.

“It was sad to see him miss a week and then immediately go into a back-to-back,” he continued. “Maybe that will happen, but everything we’ve seen from the Lakers has been very cautious or overly cautious with all their players and injuries so far, so it’s hard for me to see them saying, ‘Oh, Luka is out this week. Let’s give him a back-to-back.’

“So, my assumption right now is that he’s going to miss at least five of the next six games, maybe all six, and then maybe come back in the middle of next week, but that obviously depends on how he does over the next few days.”
