How to Watch Meta’s First Generation AI Developer Conference Llamacon 2025

After several years of the open source Llama AI model is just part of its connectivity conference, Meta will break into things on April 29 and host a developer meeting with completely generative AI called Llamacon on April 29. The event is completely virtual and you will be able to watch live streams on the Meta for Developers Facebook page.

Llamacon starts at 1:00 p.m. ET/10:00 p.m. ET with keynote speeches by Meta Chief Product Officer Chris Cox, Vice President of AI Manohar Paluri and Research Scientist Angela Fan. The keynote should cover the development of the company’s open source AI community, “The latest collection of Llama Collection of Models and Tools”, and a glimpse into AI capabilities that have not been released yet.

The keynote will be held at 1:45 pm/10:45 PM on ET to have a conversation between Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and DataBricks CEO Ali Ghodsi to “build AI-driven applications” and then chat at ET/7 pm/4 pm/4 pm. It seems that neither of these conversations will be used to break the news, but Microsoft and Meta have worked together before, so nothing is possible.

Traditionally, Meta has not been waiting for a meeting to launch an update to the Meta AI or Llama model. The company introduced its new Llama 4 model family one Saturday in early April, which excelled in image understanding and document parsing. It is unclear what new models or products the company can save for Llamacon.

Llamacon will be live streaming on April 29 via the Meta for Developers Facebook page, and we will be having a live blogging event on Engadget so you can get all the details when it happens.
